National Instruments (NI, Austin, TX), in collaboration with Freescale Semiconductor and Wind River, has developed the NI cRIO-9012 real-time controller based on Freescale’s MPC5200 processor built on Power Architecture™ technology, and Wind River’s VxWorks realtime operating system (RTOS). Embedded graphical system design combines open software and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) programmable hardware in one unifying platform to design, prototype, and deploy embedded systems. Freescale’s 400- MHz MPC5200 processor contains an integrated floating-point unit that is suited for networking, media, industrial control, and automotive applications. The MPC5200, which is programmed with NI’s LabVIEW Real-Time Module, gives the cRIO-9012 controller up to four times the processing performance. Running on the MPC5200, the Wind River VxWorks RTOS delivers a fault-tolerant file system that provides data-logging, allowing engineers to operate the controller for long periods of time in remote applications using a battery or solar power. ![]() For Free Info Visit http://info.hotims.com/10960-411 |
