Kontron (San Diego, CA) has introduced the Kontron ETX® miniBaseboard, a compact EXT baseboard that serves as a universal development platform for ETX 3.0-compliant modules.

It is also backward-compatible with all ETX predecessors. All interfaces are dedicated, accelerating application testing on the target platform with freely scaleable processor performance. The 130 × 155-mm RoHS-compliant board is slightly larger than the EXT modules (95 × 125 mm) it pairs with, enabling it to be integrated as a compact baseboard in most embedded applications. Integrated communication interfaces on the board are a 32-bit PCMCIA slot, four USB slots, a 32-bit PCI slot, four serial interfaces, and two Ethernet interfaces with 10/100/1000 and 10/100 Mb. Two IDE interfaces and a CompactFlash card slot also are available.
