Radstone Embedded Computing (Billerica, MA) released two versions of its 6U VPX form factor family, the DSP230 and the SBC610. Both are “AXISenabled” — they support Radstone’s AXIS Advanced Multiprocessor Integrated Software. VME interoperability is featured at the board level, allowing integration between the 6U VPX line and legacy VMEbus products.

The 6U VPX form factor DSP230 is a multiprocessor solution featuring quad Freescale 8641D processors and four gigabytes of DDR2 SDRAM memory. Serial RapidIO (sRIO) enables connectivity options. PCI Express provides users with a link to the onboard XMC site. By way of sRIO and the Freescale 8641 processor, bridge silicon is eliminated. The SBC610 6U VPX is a single-board computer (two gigabytes), based on the Freescale 8641D processor, and supports Serial RapidIO and PCI Express. Configuration flexibility is done through the provision of two XMC and PMC sites, together with a site for an Additional Flexible Interface Extension (AFIX) daughter card. The four fabric ports on the unit can be individually set to be either PCI Express or Serial RapidIO.
